Each term we take a different value to study across the whole school which are taken from the Values for Life curriculum.
Collective Worship is a legal requirement. Westbury-on-Trym Academy is a Church of England Primary Academy within the parish of Holy Trinity, Westbury-on-Trym and the Diocese of Bristol. Worship therefore reflects shared Christian values and is central to the daily life of the Academy. It offers opportunities to explore, reflect on and respond to the mystery and meaning of the Christian faith. All acts of worship reflect the Academy’s Trust Deed that worship should be “in accordance with the principles and practices of the Church of England” and are also within the Anglican tradition of serving the whole local community.
Acts of Collective Worship at Westbury-on-Trym CE Academy are used to encourage pupils to come together and allow them to reflect upon their shared human experience and feelings of joy and sadness, thankfulness and need, their reflections on shared values and concerns and the exploration of the spiritual area of experience. These experiences and attitudes can also lead to a fuller and more mature capacity for worship. Our Services are taken on a daily basis by a range of people including: the Headteacher, Father Andre, Father Adam, staff or children.
We regularly welcome clergy from other Churches and members of the wider community into school.
