Clerk to Governors

We are looking to appoint a Company Secretary and Clerk to work with and fully support the Governing Body. This role is for 144 hours per annum, plus some additional hours as and when required.  Following our positive Ofsted inspection in February 2020, when we were judged to be ‘good’, our journey to improve further continues. We have also been judged ‘Outstanding’ by SIAMS. The role is not a conventional part time job and will require some flexible working to support the Governing body.

Meetings are usually held on a Tuesday afternoon/evening covering up to 6 Full Governing Body meetings and up to 18 committee meetings per academic year of between 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours maximum, plus a small number of meetings which may be during the day.

The Clerk to the Governors is central to the smooth running of the governing body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records, giving procedural and legislative advice and to administer the legal requirements of the Academy.  Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings.
