Look What We got up to over Easter!

Message from the staff.

Even though our staff are all separated, they wanted to come together to give a very important message to our whole school family.

Lego challenge.

Mrs Pritchard, our Headteacher, requested a lego kit for her Easter holiday challenge.  She was kindly given a Pteradon by her family and here is the finished product!  Well done for persevering with your tricky challenge Mrs Pritchard.  What's next?  A T-Rex or Triceratops?

South Gloucestershire Libraries have also set up their own online Lego club, open to all with a new challenge posted every Monday via their facebook page so ask an adult with a facebook account to access the page for you.  Do let us know if you are taking part by emailing info@westburyontrym.academy and we can post your Lego creations on this page.

Family photo challenge

During the Easter holidays we challenged members of our school community and further afield to recreate famous paintings using items that they had in their homes.  The original challenge was set by  the Getty museum in New York and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.  All families needed to do was have a look through these museums' digital collections of artwork and choose one that they wanted to have a go at recreating in their home using the objects and people that are in each family.  They then sent us the original artwork and it's recreation to info@westburyontrym.academy

Here is Pierre-Auguste Renoir's "Umbrellas"

Recreated by familiar Westbury family!

Here is "The Vision of Tondal"  by Hieronymus Bosch

Recreated by that same familiar family!

The Mallinson family recreated The Flight Of Icarus by Henri Matisse.

They used clothing for part 1 and lego for part 2.  Very clever.

 Family dance mash up

Thank you to all the families who were kind enough to send us their dance videos - we are in the process of putting them all together for you to see.  If you have a late entry, please do send it to  info@westburyontrym.academy
